Hirshhorn Museum welcomes Videoart at Midnight in Washingston DC

Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden welcomes Videoart at Midnight:
Thursday October 15, 2015, 6:30 pm | Ring Auditorium with Ulu Braun and Olaf Stüber

Olaf Stüber, a leading proponent of moving-image art in Germany, is co-founder of the monthly showcase Videoart at Midnight. A cult event among Berlin art enthusiasts, it invites artists to present their work in a free and open forum that welcomes not only video but performance and conversation. After introducing this program, Stüber will be joined by Ulu Braun, an artist who has been featured in Berlin. Samples from Braun’s extravagantly animated oeuvre will be presented as part of the Museum’s fall focus on Surrealism. Selections will include digital versions of exquisite corpses, in which Braun and other artists create collaborative works by building sequentially on each other’s contributions.

This program is presented in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut Washington.
